Nearing the end of this class......

   

"Time flies"

I can't believe that this class will be soon finished. Through this class, my writing ability has improved than before.

     Above all, my writing has been organized. Before, I just considered making structure; introduction, body, conclusion. I didn't know that what is hook and thesis, restate. But, now, I mind to hook and thesis and I try to make more interesting introduction. I think my introduction has developed. As well, my body paragraphs have been clear because of learning sequence connectors. However, I'm still difficult to write conclusion paragraph. I'll need to practice to make more clear conclusion. Through this class, my basic writing structure is not changed but, each paragraph has been more clear and detail.

In the future, on the basis of learning the essay process by this class, I'll practice to make clear conclusion continuously. And I'd like to take a TOEIC WRITING examination. The challenge may be interesting.

Imported beefs for the ordinary people

     Nowadays, in Korea, US beefs are an hot issue because of FTA. So, many people have a negative awareness about imported beefs because there was a disturbance about mad cow disease of US beef a few years ago. So, it is hard to change people's negative awareness. But, I think imported beefs are not always bad. Obviously, there is a good point.

     First of all, the biggest merit is a reasonable price. As we know, imported porks are cheaper than Hanwoo because of duty free. So, imported beefs are beefs for the ordinary people. Most ordinary people have a burden of price when they buy beefs. So, lots of the common people have bought porks instead of beefs. However, now, we can enjoy beefs without a burden of price than before.

    

     Almost people are worried about the quality of imported beefs. But, Max Baucus who is the senior United States Senator change the way of payment of beefs from advance payment to after payment. So, we don't need to worry about damage of quality.

     In conclusion, imported beefs are good for the ordinary people because of being cheap. And, we can choose a good quality of beef through after payment of beefs. Therefore, we should make effort to have a positive awareness than we just blame a imported beef.

     Recently people's interesting of imported beefs have been increased. import tariff was free and prices of imported beefs have been cheaper than domestic beefs. So, the number of people who buy the imported beefs have been increased as well. But, an insanitary breeding farm was revealed via some TV programs, and people are in great anxiety. So, even though imported beefs' prices are cheap, I disagree with free import duty of beefs. There are some reason why I disagree with that.

     First, imported beefs are low quality. Actually, we don't know exactly where those come from and how those quality is controled. The mess media already let us know about danger of imported beef. Especially, insanitary breeding farm and distribution system are a severe problem. Bacilli in the beefs can bring about various illnesses such as food poisoning and urine poisoning, what is worse, we can die. As well, some imported beefs are not young cattle and these old cattle are liable to have SRM(Specified Risk Material). So, imported beefs are not safe any more.

     Second, imported beefs are cheaper than domestic beefs(Hanwoo), beacause import tariff is free. So, lots of restaurants and homes buy imported beefs. We already know that Hanwoo (a korean beef cattle) is good, but it is so expensive. Accordingly, imported beefs are deeply occupied in our life. If the rate of dependence on imported beefs increase more and more, it will hinder growth of our domestic beefs.

     In conclusion, we are able to eat cheap imported beefs through free import duty. However, low quality of the beefs can cause various illnesses and even death. For that reason, I disagree with free import duty of beefs. Actually, we can't completely prohibit to import the beefs. Therefore, at least, there should be import tariff and imported beefs have to do free competition with domestic beefs.

My favroite places

     Seoul is the center of Korea, and a major city of transport and civilization as well. I'm city-bred, so I know lots of places in seoul. There are many restaurant, park, shopping centers, and etc. But, my favorite places are arranged. So, my favorite places are classified according to the neighborhood of my house.

     Usually, I often go to a close places such as Jamsil, Dducksum, Olympic park. Jamsil is very convenient, because I live in there. There is a big amusement park; Lotte world. And, there are lots of shopping center including department. So, I prefer Jamsil to other places. Dduksum is a peaceful place. That's because there is the Han River. For that reason, I can refresh myself with a beer and a river wind. Besides, I can enjoy a fireworks display especially in summer.Lastly, Olympic park is the familiar spot. That's because there is the place at a stone's throw from my house. Various famous singers' concert as well as sports game are held in there, and there are lots of trees and an extensive meadow where family can go on a picnic. As well, we are able to exercise with a fresh air.

     Next, I go to there such as Garosu-gil, Hongdae and Namsan, even though there are a little far from my house. It takes 1hour to 1hour and a half by subway. Garosu-gil is located in Sinsa-dong. There are lots of nice cafeterias and boutique, so Garosu-gil give the joy of our eyes. Hongdae is famous place. There are a plenty of performances on the street. Above all, I'm able to enjoy club. Lastly, Namsan is a famous sight spot in Seoul. We can choose two way of climbing, by cable car or by walk! If I were you, when I go up Namsan, I'll take a cable car and when I go down there, I'll walk. I think it is ideal. Anyway, the reason why I like Namsan is a beautiful night view. As well, there is a lovely place where I write down my wishes on a lock and lock up on a wire entanglements. It is really interesting.

     All these places are nice. Jamsil, Dducksum and Olympic park are convenient and peaceful, and Garosu-gil, Hongdae and Namsan are also famous and joyful. So, no matter how long it takes from my house. I love these places, and I hope you'll go there.

☆MY WRITING PROCESS

All of us have a preferent way of their own when they write. Someone prefers a improvised writing and another prefers a thorough plan. In my case, I'll choose the latter. The reason is that our writings will be messy, if we write something without plan. For that reason, I have my own writing process.

First of all, I start with something simple. It is brainstorming! I arrange the diverse thoughts which come into my head during this process.
After then, I make the structure; introduction, body, conclusion. And, my ideas which I brainstorm fit into the appropriate structure.
Then, I write the multiple drafts. Of course, if we can finish our writing at once, it will be really good. But, we can't correct our errors even though we have a lot of errors in our writings. So, I go through a draft at least twice.
And, after I finish my writing, I ask people around me feedback all the time. If others as well as me read my writing, they will be able to find another errors which I couldn't notice. Besides, they will give a better opinion or advice. So, I think this process is really necessary!
lastly, In my case, I write the first draft by hands. Using computer is to look good, but I can correct my errors directly when I write it by hands. However, I write my final writing on the typewriter in order to arrange clearly.

Until now I explain my writing process. I think there may be the same process in our class, because my writing process is basic. So, I want to learn a polished writing through this class^^.

First of all, I'm happy to meet you~!
Whatever we meet a new things is always exciting to us!
so, I really throb my heart that I introduce about me to the new friends and teacher.

Then, I'll introduce myself briefly.
My major is new material of engineering and I live in seoul.
My hobby is litening to music, and my favorite singer is Maroon5 !!
Their voice is really attractive.

The reason why I take this class is that I want to improve my writing ability and I want to get a good job. Others as well as me may want to get a great job. Nowadays, English is very important to get a good job,and most of students will have a constant worry about English including me T.T...
So, I think this class will be helped me to improve my english ability.
Perhaps, when this class is toward the end,,,I will be able to get my confidence about English!

I know my writing is not perfect but, thank you for reading my first entry!^^
